CAN CLASSIC LIBERALISM SURVIVE GLOBALIZATION?

My work on globalization is attempting to map the structures of transactions in the contemporary world, focusing particularly on the dimensions of international trade. Through this lens, I hope to define the asymmetries of power and the manner in which influence is wielded.  I am then hoping to compare these findings to basic assumptions of 19th century Liberalism and ask whether the balances of power and equality presumed by it still operate in the new global system.
