Bio/Description
Eliana Gagnon is a Princeton Ph.D. student in Sociology. Her research interests emphasize the "sociology of microcultures," particularly ambiguous and/or intense microcultures. Eliana primarily focuses on the overlap of microcultures with religion, ethnoracial identity and the elites, respectively. Her recent and ongoing projects include investigation of (1) boundary-drawing between evangelicals and fundamentalists (stemming from her senior thesis), (2) Black-mixed racial performativity and (3) art world elitism. Before matriculating into the Ph.D. program, Eliana obtained an A.B. in Sociology and a Visual Arts certificate at Princeton University.
