Bio/Description

Heather Kugelmass’s areas of interest include social inequality, health, education, and experimental methods. Through field experiments, her dissertation explores racial and social class disparities in access to mental health care. Her research on therapist bias has been published in the Journal for Health and Social Behavior and featured in The Atlantic, NPR, The Guardian, CNN, and other media outlets.

Heather earned an M.A. in Quantitative Methods in the Social Sciences (Columbia University) and a B.A. in Psychology (Stony Brook University, Honors College).
